What is too much??

**Before anything else, you must read My Words latest post, Frances, is an impressive wordsmith, who has an uncanny ability to find images, quotes and poems that ‘illustrate’ her words even more. With this post, to use a sport analogy, she hits it out of the park!** http://fcs2.wordpress.com/

It has been grey and wet,

of late.

More rain than snow,

wet, slippery,

fell into a giant puddle,

yesterday,

yep,

my new woolrich down jacket,

is definitely,

waterproof,

as is my L.L. Bean courier bag

๐Ÿ™‚

The Dude is feeling much better,

he’s eating well,

he’s peeing less,

fingers crossed that keeps up,

over the holidays,

and into the new year.

Here’sย  a picture,

of the ole fart,

Photo de couverture

It’s not the best picture,

but,

it is the most recent,

as you can see,

he’s getting on in years,

who isn’t??

Here’s a picture of me,

my friend Chris took,

at a Saturday dinner,

local Vietnamese place,

not too grey or pale,

on this one,

ah, pro photographers:-)

Caroline Filler

I’ve been busy ish,

at the bookstore,

people starting to feel,

Christmas in the air,

no signs of a white Christmas,

yet,

but,

it’s coming.

I’m really looking forward,

to four days off,

wow,

four days!!

Catching up on reading,

spending some quality time,

with friends,

family.

This week hasn’t been,

condusive,

to much reading,

haven’t had much time,

for anything too deep,

so I’ve been,

reading an anthology,

of lesbian erotica,

my love sent me,

Dyke The Halls,

it’s silly and light and sexy,

just what the doctor ordered:-)

Also,

I’ve been considering,

this quote by Anne Lamott,

Pinned Image

Of course,

this is true,

our lives are our own,

we can share what we want,

chose to,

and,

in a world of over sharing,

I don’t worry,

too much,

I know that my internal filters,

function,

but,

I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings,

and,

I don’t want to be one of those,

friends or girlfriends,

who turns everything,

into an anecdote,

for the blog.

Sure,

the blog is my own,

I say what I want,

but,

I want it to mean something,

to me,

to you,

the reader,

I don’t want it to be,

self-absorbed navel gazing,

make sense?

I apologise if it,

sometimes,

occasionally,

but,

at the cost of therapy,

a butch has gotta do what a butch’s has gotta do.

Wink.

Later girls,

BB

  1. I love that quote!

Thanks for the link to Frances’ blog. I have added her to my reader. Yes, she is a good wordsmith, with good insight.

    Cheers!

  2. First, dear Bookish, thank you for your kind word and thoughts and link — I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that coming from you: just know that it’s a whole bunch.

Second, glad to hear the Dude is doing well.

Third, you gotta do what you do. While I don’t know you in any way excpet through your writings and your words, you have never struck me as someone who would intentionally hurt someone’s feelings. And if someone chooses to be hurt by something you write or think, we’ll perhaps some big girl panties might be helpful: we’re often hurt by our own expectations and pst experiences than by what is truly right in front of us. Having said that, there are risks to being involved with lovers of stories, writers of blogs, poems, stories, books. Some things that might be private could end up in words, out in public. Surely, you are worth the risk…??

Meaning is a strange thing, constructed in the most curious ways, and as a writer (I know you know this) you can’t always predict what will have meaning for people in what you write. I remember arguing with all those teachers about “what did the writer mean?” Once it’s out in the public, meaning can be constructed in the eye or mind of the beholder in ways the writer never imagined. Needless to say, I got into much trouble with my teachers and professors.

… please do keep on doing what you do. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s wonderful.

  3. Dear Frances, my pleasure, I enjoy your blog, makes me smile makes me think and I wanted to share with my own wonderful readers, ’cause they deserve to smile and think, too:-)

The Dude is good, snoring away, as I write this.
Thirdly, you’re right, you gotta do, what you gotta do and write it too!
Big girl panties, eh? Is that like rotund butch boxers?? ๐Ÿ˜›

You know, I blog for me but, also for all the wonderful ‘yous’ out there, unique and marvelous, one and all.

  4. Hmmm, well, if the boxers fit, I suppose so…but that was more about people who might be hurt that you write about some things that are not intended to hurt. THOSE big girl panties…or boxers — as the case may be. ๐Ÿ™‚
