It’s hot again,
I’m going to,
the library,
metro will be,
hellish,
but,
the library is,
nice and cool.
Going to try and find,
a decent translation of,
Les Liaisons Dangereuses,
people been,
bugging me,
for years to read,
this book,
but,
I can’t handle,
the 16 th century?
French,
so I’m giving in,
and will read it,
in English,
some challenges I’m just not up for:-)
I watched a modern version,
of the story,
last night,
on television,
with Catherine Deneuve,
Rupert Everett,
and Natassja Kinsky,
wow, now that is one beautiful woman
I know the story,
of course,
but,
Deneuve and Everett,
were practically,
dripping,
evil,
so I decided,
now is the time,
to take it out of,
the library,
the book I mean.
For your viewing pleasure,
the lovely Ms Kinsky,
and the sublime,
Mme. Deneuve,
Rupert?
He’s pretty easy on the eyes as well,
Later girls,
BB
I had a copy of the book on my shelf for a few years, but could never face reading it – think the story is a bit too grim for me. I liked the 1980s film adaptation with Glenn Close. The modern update, Cruel Intentions, is pretty good too.
You would like the Deneuve, Everett version, and yeah it is grim, love
and perceived perfidy leads some people to ugliness. They didn’t have the translation, so I’ll have to try later.
