Keep calm and …

Do you know,

the story of,

Keep Calm and Carry On?

Originally,

this was,

a British war department poster,

WW II,

it was meant to be distributed,

should the Germans invade,

it was never distributed,

if you watch this video,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrHkKXFRbCI

you will see where it turned up.

so very British,

so very bookish,

it has captured,

the popular imagination,

and,

has become an icon,

and,

meme,

for our times.

A simple,

straight forward,

message,

with layers and layers,

of meaning,

pride,

stiff upper lipness,

emotion,

Brit style.

I love it,

consider it words,

to aspire to,

not live by,

I’m way too tense,

and,

Latin,

but,

still.

I have a coffee cup,

that looks like this,

It’s my current favourite:-)

I also have a small tote.

I’d like to share,

some of the Keep Calms,

that make me laugh,

or express my personality,

from in and around the,

web.

I think of this one as,

Butch In A Nutshell

Because all is better with coffee,

including,

difficulty.

If you keep reading,

it might go away,

right?

Irish and whatever gets you through the night version.

Cookie monster and eating your emotions version

Follow your sartorial bliss,

and,

finally,

you know,

you want to,

WINK

Later girls,

BB

  1. There’s a lot to be said for keeping calm… depending on the circumstances of course.

  2. Good morning BB –

I came here today to tell you I missed seeing you around the web – for some reason my reader wasn’t updating your blog, so the last post I knew of was the Pride/Community Day post – I thought I might single-handedly encourage you out of your web silence. But here you are – and have been. Technology is so great except when it errs just like we humans do. I hope you find the job that provides all you need.

  3. Good morning Dee, I’ve missed your comments, sorry to hear your reader hasn’t been updating, yep, I’m still here:-) I’m hoping that tomorrow being the day after Labor day that some job news will be forthcoming, fingers crossed:-)
