Bookstores??Nah, Sports Bars, that’s what this city needs!!

You know,¸

today isn’t hot,

it’s beyond hot,

sweltering,

scorching,

burning,

oohh, really bad,

the thought of,

going out into it,

gives me chills:-)

I read an article,

that was published in,

our Montreal,

English paper,

The Gazette,

mom,

cut it out for me,

she does that,

 if,

she thinks,

I might miss,

something important,

because,

I’m preoccupied,

or,

like currently,

grouchy because,

of the heat,

anyway,

this article is about,

how three old buildings,

on Ste-Catherine,

between Atwater and Guy,

are being expropriated,

and torn down,

so one of our,

local,

robber barons/bar owners,

can expand,

his sports bar,

because of course,

all good cities,

need a sports bar,

that can hold up to,

nine-hundred and forty,

yahoos,

pardon,

patrons:-)

But, hey,

people are allowed,

to congregate,

drink beer,

watch hockey,

I’m not judging,

really, I’m not,

you all know,

I love my hockey,

and beer.

The part that,

really,

pissed me off,

was what was being,

expropriated,

three small businesses,

one of which,

is a,

used bookstore.

The tenants were,

given,

thirteen days to pack up,

I can tell you,

that’s not enough!!!

Of course,

bar owners,

have more clout,

than booksellers,

with city,

hall,

it would seem,

as though,

louts in general,

have more clout,

with this administration,

???!!!???

So, another,

bookstore,

bites,

the dust,

well, I guess,

we can all,

rest in the knowledge,

that savage capitalism,

and,

graft and corruption,

are alive,

and well,

in the Palermo,

of the north.
