Be it resolved…

We have a grey day,

going on,

here in Montreal.

Ah the low light of Winter,

can be tough.

The short days,

and,

long nights,

of,

January and February,

are good for a few things,

yep,

you’re right,

cuddling,

<happy sigh>

but,

also,

looking ahead,

and,

well,

reading.

So here are my reading resolutions for 2013,

getting a reading lamp for the living room,

mom gave me some gift certificates to a local hardware-home improvement chain, that should cover that:-)

and,

Broccoli reading,

let me elucidate:

I don’t really like broccoli,

but,

I eat it,

I’m an adult,

I know that green fibrous veggies,

are good for me,

broccoli,

is readily available,

relatively cheap,

and,

is one of the major components,

of some of my favourite,

grab a bite in town foods,

namely,

vegetarian spicy Tokinoise soup,

Vietnamese soup, cheap, comfort food, full of veggies and spice and noodles in a clear broth, comfort without too much starch, perfect Sunday library visit lunch. I go to the library walk down Ste-Catherine street and treat myself to lunch before heading home, but I digress, I do that:-)

The thing is,

broccoli,

isn’t at the top of my list,

of,

yummy foods,

but,

being a responsible adult,

(responsible to your body, your health)

I eat it,

and,

derive satisfaction,

if not,

pleasure,

so I have resolved,

that this year,

I will do some,

broccoli reading.

I will read,

at least once a month,

a book that’s good for me,

that I’ve been wanting to,

get through for a while,

that will satisfy,

if not pleasure.

Life isn’t only about pleasure,

plus,

stuff you work for,

is really worth it,

in the end,

I think

🙂

So, I’m adding,

broccoli read to my categories.

But, aside from those,

I want to read more on a whim,

go where I will,

aiming to get back to a book,

a week,

which will get me to around,

fifty books,

but,

I won’t beat myself about it.

So, be it resolved,

reading for 2013,

broccoli and whim,

sounds like a perfect balance,

oh and more,

elements of butch style,

I like that,

fun,

and,

gives me an excuse to indulge in,

talking about clothes and style,

which is,

the opposite of broccoli

😛

So, girls,

any reading or other resolutions?

Share with BB

🙂

Later girls,

BB

  1. Vegetable books – neat concept, BB! I could use more veggies in my own reading diet. I can see it now: green pea stories when I want mushy, hot pepper anthologies for something more spicy, celery tomes for moral fibre, potato and carrot novels for sense and comfort, and ochra for those exotic and uncomfortable polemics. Perhaps I too will make more careful menu choices this year…

  2. Oh no, no, no! Dear BB, I may have missed your point. Give up meaty mysteries and thick, rich, saucy romances !?!?! I was thinking more of supplements, along the lines of the Times Literary, or side dishes to accompany and inform the main roast. Sadly, I doubt I’ll ever have the fortitude for a resolution like yours.
