Random thoughts and ramblings

The weather this week,

has been,

amazing,

mild, sunny,

picture perfect,

early Summer.

I’ve been draggin’,

my ole butt around.

Long week,

last week,

sidewalk sale and all,

and,

my sinuses have been bad,

as a special someone,

woud say,

drains my superpowers:-)

I can’t read much,

and sometimes,

thinking hurts,

thus,

the limited blog output.

Plus,

the things,

I really want to write about,

are personal,

or petty,

or complicated,

trying to understand this,

whole student ‘strike’ thing,

is hard enough,

but,

writting about it?

Next to impossible.

Hockey has been,

a dissapointment,

and my social life,

has been quiet.

This weekend should be great,

dinner with my favourite Anarchist,

on Saturday,

and,

a Sunday family BBQ,

and the Canadiens,

have named a new head coach,

so that is making me optimistic,

for next season.

The end of June,

brings,

my love to town

thump, thump, that’s my heart,

🙂

I won’t go on about it,

but,

it’s got me sporting,

a permanent smile,

to go with my ‘do’

<happy, happy sigh>

The new do,

seems to get stranger,

reactions,

now,

that it’s longer??

Go figure,

of course,

could be the full moon,

doing that??!!??

Men seem a bit,

more,

put out by it,

except for the gay guys,

they all love it:-)

Women like it,

they smile at me more,

could be they find it,

a) goofy,

b) kind of gutsy, as in: shit, not sure I’d do that!!

c) out there, butch,

or,

d) sexy beyond belief

yeah, I am pulling your leg!!!

I’m reading John Irving,

about a quarter way through,

but,

having trouble concentrating,

also reading,

The Car Thief,

for a review,

I like it so far,

but,

I have to be better,

to give it proper attention.

So, that’s it,

random ramblings,

should be back to,

‘normal’,

soon.

Later girls,

BB

p.s want to acknowledge my new header, borrowed it from butch wonder, was having logistical problems with the blog so did a little tweaking, it fits, I think:-)

I am a bookish butch in my mid early fifties. I live in Montréal and always have. I used to run a small used bookstore. Reading keeps me sane. My latest jiggie is photography, book project in the works, living the dream

  1. I finished the new John Irving today. Loved it. I hope your concentration returns. I’ve decided to re-read Garp, Owen Meany & Cider House so I can hold all of my favorite of his novels more freshly in my mind.

  2. i don’t see why it couldn’t be option (d)….you just never know!
btw, have any literature suggestions? my reading life is taking a bit a stale turn….been reading Vonnegut again lately but need something new in my life…

  3. 🙂 Thank you. Hum, literature suggestions, eh? Have you ever read Malamud, The Tenants, fabulous and I love, love, Wallace Stegner discovered him this year, The Spectator Bird, really good. Now if you want to try something lovely, French and perhaps just a little naughty…try Colette’s Claudine Novels, they are delightful from
another era, but, modern, with a strong, sexy, female heroine, if you haven’t read Colette, you must:-)

  4. BB – read on! In One Person doesn’t stop with bisexuality, but expands to be about sexual/gender outsiders in general.

  5. I will, Irving has often dealt with sexual outsiderness, a fascinating topic.
I’m about one third through, can’t wait to give you all my impressions:-)

  6. thanks for the LIT suggestions…i can now go to the library and/or my local independent bookseller and browse for some exciting new reads!

  7. Sometimes I find the words aren’t falling into places in a way that I would like them to, and I fall silent on my own blog.

Is liking short hair on woman a gay man thing?

  8. I like to try and fight my way through the blocage. 🙂 No, I don’t think liking short hair on a woman a gay man thing but, my gay guy friends have all been mucho enthusiatic, they all say it should be my new ‘do’, and although the guys I refer to are gay, they aren’t all that similar:-) I do think, a lot of straight men like long hair, they see it as more ‘feminine’, but, that’s just an impression, nothing even remotely scientific about it:-)
