…and then the Heavens opened up

Well,

yesterday sure was,

a crappy day:-)

Hot and humid,

oppressive,

cloying,

sales,

the pits,

who wants to walk around in that?

and,

then around,

five pm,

the heavens opened up,

and,

within fifteen minutes,

we had a tropical rain storm,

flash flood,

whatever term,

you want to use,

I call it,

a shit load of rain!!!

The city’s sewer system,

which is already,

in a pitiful state,

couldn’t handle it,

to be fair,

nothing could have.

Result:

flooding all over the city.

In the bookstore,

the toilet,

overflowed,

and,

then,

overflowed,

some more.

It felt like,

I was in a scene,

from train spotting:-)

The basement got flooded,

about an inch,

on my side,

of course:-)

This coupled with the fact,

that this week is,

the sidewalk sale,

admit it I haven’t bitched about it, too much this year:-)

should be a rotten week.

But,

honestly,

it could have been,

so much worse.

This morning the sky,

is blue,

and so far,

it’s breezy,

things are looking up.

Thanks for listening,

and,

putting up,

with my rant.

Blogging as therapy,

for those of us,

who can’t afford a,

shrink

<wink>

Have a great day you all,

stay dry:-)

Later girls,

BB

  1. You poor thing… that’s just not fun. I hope nothing was damaged… and that the sidewalk sale goes well. đŸ™‚

  2. boo to flooding! i hope everything dries out beautifully. sending prosperous, relaxed vibes your way for the sidewalk sale!

  3. Hard to imagine that much rain, but you made the madness quite clear. Here we have had so little rain.
