I’ve been fifty a little over a week now,
so far it has been,
pretty wonderful.
I have been spoiled and cherished.
Lunches, brunches, dinners and teas.
Life is good,
the future looks bright.
Now, if I could only get my neighbours to stop screaming…
My friend Renaud and I,
who I affectionately refer to as kid, anyone under twenty-five is a kid,
are working on songs, writing songs,
it is very pleasant and creatively enriching.
He took this pic of me,
yesterday,
while we were having tea,
Earl Grey Cream, in case you are interested :-).
he liked it right away,
said I looked dignified,
not sure about dignified,
but,
I do like that it captures me,
relaxed, happy,
warts and all,
that thing on my lip isn’t a wart but, sun blister and all doesn’t sound the same.
I thought I would share it,
with you all,
and,
tell you,
those of you looking at,
fifty,
coming up on you,
fast or slow,
it’s fine,
truly.
Lilacs and cream tea.
Be well.
Later girls,
BB
Your friend was right. You look very dashing at 50!
Wait until you hit 60 like I did last year. I immediately adopted Lucielle Ball’s philosophy and and publicly shed 6 years. It’s a woman’s prerogative to lie about her age if she wants. Right?
(That’s the first time in my life I ever tried to spell prerogative. It looks weird).
Enjoy your 50’s, it’s a great decade!

Well, thank you very much, for dropping by and the kind descriptor, my young friend said I looked distinguished, don’t know about that, but, hey, I’ll take all the compliments I can get:-)
At a party at a local bar, for our jeopardy challenge face book group, I met many people in their sixties who say that is pretty cool too, for the time being I do intend to enjoy my fifties, a lot
Happy Belated Day and Decade to you. The celebration sounds wonderful. I’m not yet a convert but I have noticed, in recent months, that indeed there may be a lurking fondness for tea which I have previously pushed aside in favour of that other beloved beverage. Phrases like “Earl Grey Cream” and the inclusion of lilacs in the description certainly help that sense along. May you find many other such pleasant moments in the years ahead.
Thank you for the well wishes and I think you would adore the Earl Grey Cream. Hope you are well:-)
