Yes, apologies,
to you my dear readers.
I have been soaking up,
as much of the last bits,
of totally free time,
I have left,
and,
so,
not finding much time,
to blog,
and,
maybe,
just maybe,
I haven’t had a whole lot,
to say.
I’ve been a little boring lately,
but,
I have been marinating and brewing,
things,
projects.
I’ve been spending lots of time,
with my mom,
my wonderful,
supportive mom,
I’ve told you all,
over and over,
how wonderful,
she is,
and,
you know,
she really is,
I’m blessed,
truly
and grateful.
As an aside, I don’t know how many of you have heard of this, recently a group of researchers found that one of the biggest contributing factors to happiness, is, gratitude, feeling it and expressing it, I’ll give you the link to a video at the end of this post. Anyway, I think it’s true, it is for me:-)
So yeah, spending time,
with Ma,
with my little ancient Dude,
THE Cat,
my furry old companion,
and,
my friends,
some of whom I have to,
communicate with,
through written channels,
and,
some of which,
I can shoot the sh*t with,
over coffee,
on these beautiful,
Fall days.
I have been reading,
without being concerned with completion,
and,
I have watched tons of movies,
and,
quality television,
( check out the fabulous British series Last Tango In Halifax broadcast here in North America on PBS , right up there with Call The Midwife and Dowtown Abbey, top notch)
My reading has been all over the place,
re-reading Maugham,
John O’Hara,
which I like,
not love,
but,
like and,
Dawn Powell,
a nearly forgotten American,
comic novelist,
who has been brought back,
in large part thanks to Gore Vidal’s ,
campaign in the 90’s.
So far,
I like her stuff very much,
at first she wrote about,
small town Ohio,
and escaping to the big city,
New York,
and,
later she wrote about,
the Greewhich Village litterati of which,
she was a member,
worth looking into.
One thing I have also been reading,
is a novel,
my sweetheart sent me.
The Black Biker,
a dark,
lesbian,
well dyke/butch voice,
it’s gritty and interesting,
and,
once I’ve finished and digested it,
I intend to write a review,
and ‘talk’ about,
different voices in lesbian fiction,
and,
how important it is to ‘see’ and ‘hear’,
the diversity,
in my opinion.
I start my new job,
on Tuesday,
long weekend,
here in Canada.
So, I expect it will keep me busy,
and,
tired,
for a bit,
but,
I will write,
just maybe not too often,
but,
hey,
you never know,
right?
I wish you all well,
and,
thank you,
for being there.
I think,
Bookish Butch,
still has life in it,
and,
we’ll see where it brings us,
it’s been a year,
of growth and loss,
life,
right?
Later girls,
BB
