A lovely week and the passing of Nora the Great

Hello all:-)

I’ve had a really good week,

how could I not?

A weekend with my love,

just us,

yeah,

that’s right,

perfect,

dream come through,

happy, happy sigh

As I’m sure,

all the astute,

readers of bookish butch,

can tell,

I’m still a little silly

and,

floating,

another weekend is starting,

🙂

Things have been slow,

but,

steady,

at the bookstore,

it’s been hot,

but,

not molten lava,

like.

All in all,

a darn good week.

One sad note,

this week,

Nora Ephron,

passed away,

she was a wonderful,

writer, filmaker,

brought us such treasures,

as,

When Harry Met Sally,

Silkwood,

You’ve Got Mail,

Sleepless In Seattle

and,

one I saw recently,

It’s Complicated.

She wrote,

with wit,

and,

insight,

about relationships,

the good,

the bad,

a truly female voice.

She wrote and said things,

about divorce,

that most people,

wouldn’t.

Ephron had humour,

but,

never complacent.

I was,

and,

will remain,

a big fan.

here are some quotes:

“When your children are teenagers, it’s important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you.” ― “I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman”

Harry: “There are two kinds of women: high maintenance and low maintenance.” Sally: “Which one am I?” Harry: “You’re the worst kind; you’re high maintenance but you think you’re low maintenance.” — “When Harry Met Sally”

I try to write parts for women that are as complicated and interesting as women actually are. Nora Ephron
In my sex fantasy, nobody ever loves me for my mind. Nora Ephron
and one of the most beautiful of movie lines:
When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
Nora Ephron
RIP Nora,
We’ll miss you.
Have a great weekend, all.
Later Girls,
BB
