Winner Canadian Blog Award 2013, LGBT category
Hello girls,
I’m here to tell you,
Spring has Sprung,
yay!!
I had a pretty good week,
work has been,
fine,
haven’t done,
much writing,
but,
I’ve been using,
my new camera,
learning how,
I should say,
an artist/photographer friend,
of mine has been showing,
me the ‘ropes’,
such fun,
this camera is an slr,
beautiful Nikon D40,
it was a much appreciated gift
🙂
it’s harder to use than,
the camera phone
(which does everything for you)
and,
the little Canon,
but,
messing around with,
the possibilities,
is amazing,
I haven’t been,
so enthused,
about anything,
as much,
as the photography,
in a long time,
and,
I think,
even a rank amateur,
such as myself,
will be able to make,
some-
“pretty pictures”
🙂
In the last year,
because,
it’s been almost a year,
since,
I closed the bookstore,
I have gone through,
many changes,
not the least of which,
have been,
technological.
I’ve used a computer,
for a while,
but,
the smartphone,
and,
the digital photography thing,
well,
recent.
They have very much,
improved my life,
given me,
options,
of,
communication and expression.
It’a new world.
Some people talk about,
how the smartphone, face book etc,
makes you waste time,
etc,
but,
I find it has given me,
wings,
and,
allowed a variety of communication options,
geared to each person,
some people like email,
some texting,
some talking on the phone,
some a quick chat,
on face book or hangouts,
it’s amazing,
I can touch base,
and,
much more,
with all my friends and acquaintances.
With email and face book,
I could already do that,
but,
with the phone,
well it’s always in my pocket,
I am untethered,
just got to keep the little guy,
juiced:-)
I downloaded an app,
that keeps the battery,
optimum,
battery guru it’s called,
pretty awesome,
the ex told me about it,
and,
today,
I received something,
full disclosure free stuff
from the good people at,
Nomad,
it’s called a charge key,
great idea,
it’s the size of a car key,
and,
it is a key chain sized,
lightning cable.
The ends are hard plastic,
the middle,
rubber,
so very easy to ease into a usb port,
so you can charge,
pretty much,
anywhere.
Your charger you can forget,
but,
your keys,
well,
always around.
It adds no bulk or,
weight,
it’s an extra key,
that’s all.
I just got it,
so we’ll have to see,
how durable it is,
but,
so far,
I’m impressed.
🙂
Nomad also has a device,
called a charge card,
credit card size,
fits in your wallet.
Nomad was an Indie A Go Go,
project,
big success,
great idea,
just launched in Canada,
retails for around $20.00,
works with Apple and Android technology.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III,
and,
it’s hunky dory.
If you want to learn more, here’s the web site,
With Spring,
comes a craving for,
mobility and freedom,
with my juiced phone,
and,
camera,
in tow,
every day,
is a chance for,
getting out there,
exploring,
feeling the wind in my hair,
and,
at my back.
Be well,
all of you,
have fun.
Later girls,
