Love changes you

I’ve had a busy week.

A lovely week.

A week filled,

with,

stimulation and joy.

I think you all know,

BB is a butch in love.

Love changes you,

I had forgotten.

It’s been a while.

Last time,

I was in love,

not infatuated,

or in lust,

but,

you know,

the real McCoy,

love with a capital L,

I was a kid,

well, an adult,

but,

you know,

a kid:-)

Being in love,

in your rapidly,

advancing,

‘middle’ age,

is different.

In a lot of ways,

it’s better,

you know more,

you appreciate more,

it’s also much scarier,

you know more.

It’s shocking to think,

that a beautiful,

smart,

accomplished,

wondrous,

woman,

would be interested in,

the likes of you.

I mean,

I’m ok,

and all,

I’m kind to old people, children and animals

but,

let’s face it,

I’m just,

me.

Not a movie star,

like I wanted to be,

when I was ten,

nor,

the fascinating writer,

and,

butch about town,

I would have fancied myself,

being in my twenties.

An aging,

not too successful,

bookseller,

that’s what I am,

and yet,

love,

and,

the most special of women,

make me feel,

like maybe,

just maybe,

I could leap tall buildings,

or at least,

write a good novel:-)

Love changes you.

It makes you smile,

more,

it makes you sing,

more,

it restores,

your faith,

in yourself,

in life.

Brings back the pink hue,

to your rose coloured glasses,

it adds texture and threads,

to the fabric,

of your life.

It makes you fearless,

and,

terrified,

simultanetiously,

it is what,

it’s,

all,

about.

Later girls,

BB

  1. That’s absolutely wonderful!!! Love is an amazing thing to share, feel, experience, witness, tend to, and to be in and around. Yay for you and her. 🙂

  2. Congratulations! There are people who say that relationships are “hard work”. I’ve found that it’s really more the case that “relationships are transformative” – mine certainly has been! Some people find that hard, but I think it’s more fun to welcome it.
