Homecomings

Today,

was a luminous day,

with sunlight,

and blue skies,

with goodwill,

and the memories,

of youth,

and friendship.

I had a terrific day,

at the bookstore,

not just in sales,

although, that is by, no means, minor,

but,

with,

the good mood,

and good ‘vibes’

of customers.

A perfect day,

and since,

it came in the wake,

of a few rough,

ones,

much appreciated.

After work,

I met up,

with an old friend,

college friend,

it had been,

well,

twenty years,

or so,

since we had last,

seen each other,

a falling out,

over something,

that was,

unbdoubtedly,

very important,

at the time.

There was no,

ackwardness,

we just talked,

and shared,

he was,

as I remembered,

just,

a little older,

a little rounder,

a little  greyer,

aren’t we all.

🙂

I had been,

a little anxious,

a little bit,

hesitant,

people change,

and yet,

they don’t,

not,

really.

What you liked,

about them,

you still do,

and what used,

to bug you,

seems  trivial,

with,

retrospect,

hindsight,

and,

age:-)

Sometimes,

you can,

go home again.

Later girls,

BB

  1. Hmmm…maybe I won’t blow off my next High School or Undergrad reunion…or then again….still, glad that it worked out. Seeing old friends can be fun.

Did you two even remember the earth shattering falling out? I bet not…and that’s good!

  2. No didn’t remember:-) and he wrote this really nice thing on face book about what you saw in someone at eighteen still being what you like about them in their forties:-)
