Hmm, food for thought

Woody Allen, writes on the same Olympia typewriter he has used for over fifty years. The Woodster has never suffered writer's block, something to be said for low tech, huh?

I am a bookish butch in my mid early fifties. I live in Montréal and always have. I used to run a small used bookstore. Reading keeps me sane. My latest jiggie is photography, book project in the works, living the dream

  1. That is a really cool picture BB. It’s too bad that “The Woodster” as you call him couldn’t keep his ‘wood’ down around his adopted daughter:-(…I know that I should be able to separate the man from the art, but I just find it so difficult… I have come to realize that today, after all these years, I feel more angry that he tainted my perception of his very funny work than I do about his relationship with his adopted daughter…go figure.

  2. I hear yah, the whole situation really bothered me as well, for a while, I wouldn’t go to his movies. One day I saw Vicky, Christina Barcelona- on television and I realise I had missed his weird, tortured, funny look at life, love, the creative process… It would seem that great art isn`t necessarily made by great human beings, or perhaps our `flaws`faults and neurosis are what make us more interesting, I don`t know-Food for thought:-)
I`m glad you caught, that Woodster quip, he is, like Philip Roth and others obsessed with his “wood“.
You have to admit, though, it`s a nice typewriter:-)
