Twilight Zone moment

Good morning, girls,

it’s gonna be hot,

again today,

but,

nothing compared,

to what it has been,

a reliable source,

assures me,

tomorrow,

will be,

drier and cooler,

and,

since,

the reliable source,

is mom,

I’m thinking,

we’re good:-)

Last night,

was better,

a semblance of a breeze.

I closed up,

the bookstore,

a little early,

had a little dinner,

watched,

The Big Bang Theory,

ok, anyone else, watch this show? If you don’t you should, it is sheer genius, a show about nerd geniuses, that is proof, yes, proof!! That everybody is crazy, everybody has problems, and yes, everybody hurts. An intelligent comedy, haven’t seen one of those in a while:-)

After giggling,

with Sheldon,

Leonard,

and,

all,

I had a quick shower,

and high tailed it,

over to,

busy writer’s.

We had a good time,

a little conversation,

a little beer,

it was a welcome,

respite after a long,

hot!!!!

week.

So around 11h30,

I was walking home,

it’s really close,

so I went through,

the lane way,

I don’t usually,

after 11,

but,

it was 2 minutes,

in the lane,

and then you hit,

the decently well,

lit street.

Maybe, thirty feet,

from getting to the,

sidewalk,

I hear this loud,

clanking sound,

behind me,

it sounded like,

a tire iron,

being hit against,

another metal object,

and two,

I would gather,

inebriated??

male voices.

Now, I’m no,

weakling or,

shrinking violet,

but,

it’s not the kind,

of,

sound that makes,

a human,

feel safe,

especially,

when it’s behind you,

and,

you can’t follow,

the potential,

trajectory,

of whatever this object,

might be.

So, I discreetly,

picked up,

the pace,

and, turned onto,

my street.

I headed home,

at a decent clip,

not too slow,

not too fast,

and,

3 feet to the,

right of me,

lands,

a horseshoe!!!

These two idiots,

were throwing a,

horseshoe,

now, if that isn’t a twilight Zone moment, I don’t know what is?

not at me,

but,

near me,

I turned and looked,

at them,

never let them see you,

sweat.

I kept walking,

again the,

horseshoe,

lands not too far,

from me,

but,

hits,

the lamp post,

a ringer,

these two,

morons,

clap,

they are happy,

so since I’m close,

to home,

I cross the street,

I don’t really want,

to be accidently,

knocked out,

by a horseshoe.

A few people,

were sitting,

on their balconies,

and a few were,

telling,

these gigling hyenas,

to stop,

but,

they just kept doing it.

I got home,

to the peace and quiet,

of air conditioning.

No incident,

no mishap,

all was well with,

the world.

So, my point is?

Heat,

makes the sane,

a little bit,

insane,

and makes,

the missing link types,

of the world,

teeter on the edge?

Good thing,

they had,

decent aim:-)

We live in,

a strange world,

my friends,

but,

the heat is breaking,

Hallellujah!!

Later girls,

  1. Jeez, people are ridiculous! That is crazy that they were doing that and that no one made them stop. You or someone else could have been seriously injured!

  2. BB: And the moral of the story: you really don’t need to walk in the laneways or alleys cuz you know, horseshoes are for horses.
