We’ll always Have Paris

Ah… Paris,

<sigh>

I’ve never been,

to Paris,

Why?

Who knows?

waiting for,

the right woman,

to go with,

I guess:-)

More likely,

because,

I’ve never been,

much of anywhere.

But, Paris,

holds a special place,

amongst,

the many places,

I have never been.

On my ‘life list’,

there is,

live in Paris, for six months,

there is no time frame.

You see I don’t want to,

visit,

Paris,

I want to experience,

Paris.

The good, the bad, the ugly.

I’ve ‘seen’,

‘been’ to,

Notre Dame,

The Louvre,

Montmarte,

la rive gauche,

le dome,

les deux magots,

the Eiffel tower,

Les Halles,

L’arc de triomphe,

le pont neuf,

up,

and,

down,

The Seine.

Countless times,

in books,

movies,

documentaries,

in the 20’s,

30’s,

during both,

world wars,

through,

May ’68,

all of it,

the big events,

history,

and I’ve read,

everyday,

‘slices of Life’

buying baguette,

and,

leeks,

sipping coffee,

fishing,

perusing,

the bookstores,

many fine writers,

have taken me along,

for the ride.

I’d just,

like to,

experience,

holding the woman,

I love,

by the waist,

as we look out,

over the city,

experience,

first hand,

the Parisians,

making fun of,

and pretending,

not to understand,

my Québécois accent,

smell the legendary,

bad smell,

from the river.

Like I said,

the good,

the bad,

the ugly,

and,

the magical.

The book I’m currently,

reading,

The Piano Shop On The Left Bank: The Hidden World Of A Paris Atelier,

by T.E. Carhart,

is teaching me,

about Pianos,

their history,

the passion,

they bring out in people,

the beauty,

they produce,

esthetically,

and for the ears,

soul soothing,

but,

it’s also showing me,

the pace,

the rhythm,

of ‘ordinary’

Paris and it’s,

neighbourhoods.

Add to that,

my recent trips,

to Paris,

with Hemingway,

and,

Janet Flanner,

through the best,

and,

worst,

of times.

…And,

I’m longing for Paris.

<sigh>

Here’s looking at you,

Ma  chérie.

Later Girls,

BB
