a flannel shirt is the solution, sometimes

I’ve got a case of,

the greys,

not blues,

greys,

it’s a degree thing.

I don’t feel despair,

about things,

I just am lacking in,

optimism.

Things are slow,

in every way,

bookstore,

social stimulation,

yep,

grey.

Of course,

I know this will pass,

and,

honestly,

I’m in no position to complain,

I’ve got a good life,

family,

friends,

a love to call my own,

a job,

a roof,

plenty to eat,

basics and so much more.

But, some days,

you feel all forty-seven,

of your long years,

you feel alone,

with your anxieties,

and,

the new inappropriate hair growth,

menopause or whatever,

pre-manifestation this is,

hard on a body,

hard on a spirit.

We don’t talk about it much,

why, I’m not sure,

I think we see it,

many of us,

as weakness,

or self-indulgence,

and,

navel gazing,

but,

I think we need to hear,

other women tell us,

I hear you girlfriend, those hormones make me mental, too

I think feeling that someone is,

listening,

helps.

Maybe, what we all need,

is to put on our most,

comfortable warm cosy,

flannel,

and get some air,

blast the greys away,

with oxygen,

and,

some Lucinda Williams,

turned up,

real high,

and,

to know,

that some days,

are grey days,

for everyone.

Hang in there:-)

Later girls,

BB
