Old school? Looks that way:-)

A few things,

I have seen,

read,

heard,

recently,

have got me thinking,

about,

what I consider,

butch style,

it would seem,

that I have become,

old school butch,

without knowing it,

time sneaks up on you,

I guess.

I’ve never been known to wear,

a uniform,

I’ve never been a tie kind of a butch,

either.

Certain elements,

of my style,

my interpretation of butch,

if you will,

I’ve worn,

for years,

blue oxford cloth shirts,

since way back when,

mid teens,

long time:-P

same can be said for,

baseball caps,

L.L Bean plaid,

and,

Blundstones,

even though, they are cornerstones, of my style,

are much more,

recent.

I haven’t worn a sweatshirt,

in twenty years,

but,

I do wear zip front hoodies,

and,

waffle knits,

not very different,

but,

still….

I adopted boxers,

about,

fifteen years ago,

and,

I have never looked back,

love my boxers

🙂

In the last year or so,

I’ve gone beanie,

and,

driving caps,

in tweed and wool,

loving the rakishness,

they exude.

These are all things,

that are fashionable right now,

in the headgear category,

one thing,

I can’t get down with,

baseball caps worn this way,

to me,

this ruins,

what is a bad ass outfit,

I love Menswear Dog, to me, she’s very  butch:-P

I think a cap,

baseball or other,

should have a curve,

even a small one,

but,

a curve.

See I told you,

I was a old school!

One thing I have taken on,

as a part of my attire,

bracelets,

I like those leather cuffs,

and,

wooden beady type things,

I like the visual interest they add,

colour,

even,

without being girlie,

bracelets can be,

and,

are butch,

but,

no watch,

nope,

wrong.

Turning on or flipping open,

your cell phone,

to tell someone the time,

nope,

doesn’t work for me.

Last week,

on the radio,

on one my favourite radio shows,

Q on CBC,

which you can listen to on podcasts or on NPRI- worth your time, great show, yesterday Jian Gomeshi interviewed The Indigo Girls.

they had a little back and forth,

on wether wearing a watch,

was not an anachronism,

I mean everybody has a cell phone,

right?

All those who were in their twenties,

felt that wearing a wristwatch,

was either,

weird,

or,

rebellious.

This and the no curve in the cap thing,

makes me feel,

that perhaps,

without knowing it,

I have become,

old school.

Amazing some of the places,

an idle mind can go,

eh?
